Centerport UMC, Centerport, New York

The U.M. ARMY Young Adult week is returning to Centerport UMC for a second year! The Huntington township, of which Centerport is a part, is diverse in its demographics. Centerport is located on the North Shore of Long Island where there is need within and in the surrounding communities.  The Huntington Senior Center, as well as the Huntington Breast Cancer Coalition have been awesome partners in providing homeowners who are in need of assistance and are looking forward to our ministry returning for a second year. If you are interested in this location, our Young Adult Mission Week will be May 31st-June 6, 2020

St. John’s UMC, Dover, New Hampshire

Dover is nestled between the mountains and the ocean.  The community is home to individuals and private businesses that invest ideas, time and finances to improve municipal service, the economic climate and quality of life. The city of Dover has a long and colorful history spanning nearly four centuries. Its earliest days a colonial seaport led to a successful shipbuilding industry in the 1700s, and it flourished in the 19th century as the nation’s leading manufacturer of cotton goods. The St. John’s UMC looks forward to our third year returning to assist their congregation and community. If you are interested in this location, our Mixed Age Mission Week will be July 12-18, 2020.

Fishing Creek Salem UMC, Etters, Pennsylvania

Etters is a rural community on the southwest shore of the Susquehanna River in northern York County, across from Harrisburg, PA. Our host church, Fishing Creek Salem UMC, is an outreach-focused congregation with a wonderful facility, bustling with many community and faith-based groups. The church not only has a wonderful, large capacity, facility for U.M. ARMY to “live in” during the week, they also have a large outdoor space surrounded by trees which includes a pavilion, a stoned-paved outdoor chapel with firepit, a one mile walking path, and a sand volleyball court. Come to fill your hearts in a place called Etters and poor love into this beautiful, rural, need-filled community. If you are interested in this location, our Mixed Age Mission Week will be July 12-18, 2020.

Glovier UMC, Waynesboro, Virginia

Waynesboro is located in the Shenandoah Valley near many historic sites of the Civil War, as well as Shenandoah National Park, Blue Ridge Parkway, Skyline Drive, and the Appalachian Trail. We are partnering for a second year with a UMC based community outreach center called Embrace Waynesboro. Glovier UMC is an older, smaller church; however, they are a warm and welcoming congregation. One of the highlights of our stay there last year was stepping outside the back door each morning and seeing the sunrise over the amazing mountains of Virginia! Perhaps God is calling you to this community, to partner with Embrace Waynesboro, to meet the needs of an underserved population. If you are interested in this location, our Mixed Age Mission Week will be July 19-25, 2020.

West Hartford UMC, West Hartford, Connecticut

The town of West Hartford is dynamic and diverse, offering the best of the urban and suburban experience. The town is an inclusive and engaged community with caring and responsible leadership.  The West Hartford UMC is excited to be a host for the first time! They have been a part of the U.M. ARMY family for the past 8 years, sending groups all over the Northeast. The West Hartford UMC facility is perfect for hosting our mission week, with a large property and air conditioning! If you are interested in this location, our Mixed Age Mission Week will be July 26-August 1, 2020.

Toms River UMC, Toms River, New Jersey

Located on the eastern coast of New Jersey, Toms River is a 15 minute drive to the Jersey Shore. This wonderful seaside community was hit hard by Hurricane Sandy in the fall of 2012. Even though it was eight years ago, there is still residual clean up and repairs needed in and near this community. The church facility is expansive, with lots of room for sleeping, socializing and worship. We have served the community of Toms River in the past and they are very glad to have us return to help with continued clean up and other projects not necessarily related to the hurricane devastation. Perhaps the ocean is calling your youth group to this location to serve? If you are interested in this location, our Mixed Age Mission Week will be August 2-8, 2020.
